Task Force Reports
Every year, in the Fall, the Task Force hosts a community wide event to discuss the progress of the Task Force and highlights various issues surrounding breast cancer screening/treatment in Metropolitan Chicago. The attached reports were distributed at our Beyond October! Events and provide an overview of the Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force, actions taken, and recommendations at the time of writing. The reports typically include an introduction/backgound, the work the Task Force/Consortium has accomplished, information regarding the grantees and general data on organizations and institutions involved in the project. Reports are arranged in chronological order, beginning with the most recent release.

In October 2007, the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force released a landmark report, outlining specific action steps and policy recommendations to improve breast health outcomes for all women and reduce the racial disparity in breast cancer mortality that exists in Chicago. The final report entitled Improving Quality and Reducing Breast Cancer Disparities in Metropolitan Chicago can be found below.

Task Force Brochure
The Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force Brochure was created to educate the general public about the growing disparity in breast cancer mortality between Black and White women in Chicago. The brochure provides a brief history of the Task Force and its mission, some alarming facts on the breast cancer disparity in Chicago and a list of resources for the general public.
The paper attached below in 2013, uses data from the Statewide Quality Initiative to determine whether participating screening mammography facilities could demonstrate meeting quality benchmarks beyond those mandated by the MQSA.
